Giant Killing chp 90

Posted: February 18, 2011 in Giant Killing

Well, this is my new project. The translator is Machi14, his reason to  start from chp 90 is this

“I just recently finished watching the anime. So I just wanted to read the manga from where the anime stopped. But since the manga scanlations stopped at volume 3, I just wanted to know what happened next in the story.”

If you haven’t watch it, you can download it from here http://minitheatre.org/x264-completed/2013-giant-killing.html

It’s only 50mb per file and you can download it from mediafire. You only need to register to see the download link. It’s free

From baka-updates

In Giant Killing a ragtag bunch from East Tokyo are struggling in Japan’s top football league. The team is going through an abysmal spell right now where they are nearing the bottom of the table and have lost 5 matches in a row. The losses haven’t done much to team moral, because it was already low. Fan support, on the other hand, is looking bleak. In the world of football, once the fans turn on a team the end is near. Teams don’t recover. Coaches are fired, players are sold, and teams drop to lower divisions where profits often prevent them from ever being successful against even mediocre top division teams. East Tokyo United, ETU, can only blame their coach right now. And Coach is ready to give up this next game to prove to his team and fans, that against the biggest club in the nation he can make this team win.

This manga recived the 34th Annual Kodansha Manga Award for General Manga.

Hope you enjoy it.

  5. Ren says:

Oh wow, thank you for picking this up.
I really really enjoyed the anime and thought everyone dropped this series for good.

  6. dragons-son says:

Thanks for picking up this series. I just have a question. Why was Murokshi suspended? That wasn’t covered in the anime.

  7. Taurus_no_Mane says:

  11. Lee says:

Love that you’ve picked this manga up from where the anime left off.

    Just have 2 questions
First one is could you provide a summary of any important differences between anime and manga up to this point?
Second is if you eventually manage to catch up to latest chapters in Japan (i’m hopeful as impressed by your general release speed) will translations be done of any early volumes/chapters not done by other groups.

This is one of the best football anime i’ve seen to date, in sports it ranks with the likes of Area No Kishi, Major, Hajime No Ippo, e.t.c.

Only other great sports manga i’d love to be completed but probably never will be is Ashita No Joe (releases for that are usually either slow or none, no idea if its still being worked on).

    • Ardneh says:

I’ll try to ask the translator.

    • lights says:

Yeah, if nothing else, a quick summary up to where we are would be nice. Especially since I didn’t bother with the anime and was waiting for someone to pick up the manga.

    • T. E. Waters says:

Jumping in here a bit late, but I flipped through the raws and the biggest difference is that the anime cut out a Tsubaki backstory arc (the reporter lady visits his hometown and his old schools in attempt to track down his “origins”) between the victory over Osaka Gunners and the curry party.

And Murakoshi gets a yellow card in a quick throwaway game right before the one where Gino decides he wants a break. (There were a few throwaway games that the anime compressed in order to fit in the curry party.)

To the project folks: Thanks for picking this up! I *love* this series.

  12. Nibbs says:

Thanks for doing this, keep up the good work!

  13. elvyse says:

Thanks for scanlating Giant Killing, it’s an awesome manga!

  14. Sena says:

Thank you very much for this! I’m always a huge fan of football and football manga, and GK is probably my favorite of them all, so I’m sad when the translation stopped…thank you for continuing it again!

Also, I’m seconding what Lee said about the short summary about the differences and events connecting the anime to the manga. I know it’s definitely after the anime (the kids were discussing the curry party in the last episode which seems like it was recent) but a few details to fill in the blanks will be much appreciated.

  15. Edoardo Colagrossi says:

I love you, this manga is absolutely awesome, perhaps nobody team continued to scanlated. Thanks a lot,

Thanks sooo much. Now the void that was finishing the anime can finally be filled.

  23. Takeshi says:

Damn, this is awesome. I’m checking to see if scanlations had continued for Giant Killing, and then I see you guys are on it already. Good call on ch90. As much as I’d like to see how the manga compares to the anime, this is so much better. Then I can always someone else will scanlate the v04 to ch89.

Thank you so much, Giant Killing was my favourite show in 2010 after Rainbow. I’d hate for this to be the end of ETU. 😀

  24. Cozza says:

Thank you so much for picking this up! Seriously adored the anime, and the scanlated manga chapters of it there were available (only, like, the first 3 vols). ♥
